The Sound Safari experience was founded by Derek and Sarah Solomon – a couple who have a deep love of wildlife sound and its complex, subtle, and often intriguing nuances.
Sarah is the heart and soul of the operation, managing and directing the company and safari experiences from start to finish.
With over 30 years’ experience in wildlife sound recording, Derek was one of the pioneers in his field. His recordings and soundscapes have been used by wildlife researchers, conservationists, and filmmakers.
Casper Badenhorst, Nick Smith and Wesley Frohling are knowledgeable and passionate sound safari guides. They have years of experience in the field and share a love of the intricate details of nature – slowing down to appreciate, listen and share the language of the bushveld.
